What do ya do with this kind of thing?? Contest

Like I said last night, I get stir-crazy when I don't get to just cut something - locked into prepping or finishing I just get nuts! lol

So here's an example of things I make and don't know what to do with during one of these episodes.... these are hearts and apples(I know, you can see that!) that I cut out the other day because I had some itty bitty scraps of Cabreuva from the local cabinet shop, and finished a couple of them last night so I could see the pretty red wood better... Now what??!!?

I'd love to hear some ideas - I know I started out thinking that they would make great pendants, earrings etc... you want to try? lol I put a chain on something and it looks like crap - I'm just not talented in that area!!

oh and of course, ornaments - there's one in the upper picture - do I just throw a pretty string on it and call it a day? idk, but I'm sure open to suggestions! :0)

Whoever comes up with a selling piece, gets one for themselves, so think hard!! They really are very pretty and very red - pics never do the trick...

So, post your idea in the comments section and I'll see which one sells - if it does within 4 days, you win one! Can't get easier than that can it?

Thanks for "stopping by the shop!"

Well, you could put the apples on a plaque and say World's Greatest Teacher or An Apple A Day...
The hearts could say I love you, or I ♥ (fill in the blank) or (Name)♥(Name).
Or you can make ornaments! ;)

PS: the word verification for this comment is "terdo". I'm NOT kidding! LOL

depending upon how big they r u could make necklaces from them. i'd love to see a little wooden heart hanging off a beaded chain. hmmmm that gives me an idea ....

That's tooo funny Tammy!!! lol Wonder what it is trying to say!?!lol
Placing on a teacher's plaque? hummm, yes I've made several plaques over the years for the boys' teachers and they were very well received :0) Maybe that would be a great accent! Great idea =D Thanks girl! Do you think such a thing might sell on Etsy? I will make one and we'll see!

Great idea Bina! The 'sculpted' hearts are really just the right size for a necklace :) I wish you could see them in person, they are really neat - and I don't say that very often! =D It's the hanging that's got me stumped; I'm just not very good at it - I was wondering, how 'bout a ribbon or leather thong type of hanging? probably not, I don't know... I wish you were here to work these onto a necklace! ugh!
I was also thinking about a wire-wrap type of thing, but am afraid that would detract from the silky beauty of the wood's contours...
Hey, what if I just put these on Etsy as-is, as in "supplies" type of thing?? What do you think?

that might be a good idea about putting them on etsy as a supply thing. i'd love to have a crack at designing something for one of those hearts. how much would u charge me for one??? u never know -- this might become a profitable venture for us!! lol

They would probably sell as supplies or teacher's gifts!

On the twitter thing, I just post about working in the shop, or post a link to an item or my shop sometimes, just whatever. I don't know if it really worked, but my sales sure picked up when I started doing it. It sure can't hurt!

I thought the word verification spoke volumes!
