Does being 'Artsy' give one an excuse to be 'Ditsy'??

I realized this morning that I really have become a nitwit! I can't remember anything, can't find anything, and sometimes, I can't remember how to do things! It's a shocking reality for me these days but it caused a rampant discussion in my weak mind that requires more than me to solve, hence the question;
If you're creative, crafty, artistic, or otherwise gratefully endowed, does it mean that you will lose the more intelligent(for lack of a better word) parts of your brain?
I know that being left-handed can affect one's creative abilities, but what controls that side? If it's the right, then does the left side of the brain lose a bit of function?
I found a great diagram on this website and after looking it over I can only say that creating has cost me my frontal lobe!!?!?? Really!lol Just about everything affected on that diagram is what I'm experiencing =< But, was it art that did it? I don't know... but then there's the "motherhood syndrome" which could even easier explain this loss - darn kids!lol
I have to say that I believe, in my case, that art and creating did NOT do this - I think if it were responsible, then I would have more talent!! After all, doesn't one body part grow in capabilities if the other is found deficient? {{{sigh}}}
I was hoping for a more logical explanation - especially before I go into senility entirely!!!
What do you think? Am I the only one thusly afflicted??
Thanks for "stopping by the shop!"
